Faith is often described with images of green pastures and still waters. We cling to those promises because they speak to the life we long for.

Yet Psalm 23 is honest enough to acknowledge that the journey of faith also leads through dark valleys. There are seasons of uncertainty, exhaustion, grief, and struggle that test what we believe and trust to be true about God.

This Sunday, we'll listen to David's ancient words and discover that the struggles, questions, and vulnerabilities that accompany our faith are not signs that we've lost our way, but part of the journey itself.

“Do not give up meeting together…”

Hebrews 10 is often interpreted as a command about church attendance, but perhaps the author is speaking to something deeper. Written to people living in an uncertain in-between season, these words remind us that isolation weakens courage while hope is sustained in community.

This message reflects on how the early church stayed together, how the Holy Spirit formed fearful people into a hopeful people, and what it means for us to draw near to God and encourage one another today.

The Day of Pentecost began with an uncertain group of believers gathered “all together in one place.” Then came the wind. Then came the fire. Then came the Holy Spirit.

This Sunday, we’ll explore how the Spirit forms ordinary people into a hopeful community that draws near to God, encourages one another, and holds on to hope together, even in uncertain seasons.

Maybe the gifts of the Spirit are not only dramatic moments of power, but also the quieter gifts that sustain the church every day: nearness, humility, hope, love, encouragement, and the courage to keep showing up for one another.

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 am as we worship the God who still breathes life into unsettled people and gathers them together in Christ.

We are blessed with incredible lay leadership at our church. This worship service at a senior living facility that I had the privilege of serving Holy Communion at today while one of our members preached a great message from the Beatitudes is just one of many ways they serve others.
