Are you ready to compete on a national stage?

The ESPN National Youth Sports Championship is coming to SPIRE Institute & Academy in Geneva, Ohio, August 9–11, 2026!

Athletes ages 14–17 from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and tribal nations will compete in an exciting, made-for-TV competition featuring American Gladiators-style, military-inspired boot camp circuits and unique versions of classic sports.

Participants will compete for:

🏅 A share of a $250,000 scholarship pool
🏆 The opportunity to be crowned the national male or female champion
📺 National exposure, with the competition streaming on the ESPN App and the championship airing in a primetime special on ESPN on ABC

Northwestern Local Schools Welcomes Steve Tincher to the Administrative Team

Northwestern Local Schools is pleased to welcome Steve Tincher as the district’s new Athletic Director!

Mr. Tincher brings 27 years of experience in education, including the past 25 years at Shawnee High School. Throughout his career, he has served as a mathematics and business teacher, coached both golf and basketball, and spent the last 12 years as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, providing leadership for both the high school and middle school.

A lifelong resident of western Clark County, Mr. Tincher is well acquainted with Northwestern Local Schools and has long admired the district’s commitment to students, staff, and the community.

“I am excited to join the Northwestern team and work alongside an outstanding administration, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community members as we continue building a strong future for our students,” Tincher shared.
