Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, played host to one of the U.S. Army Reserve's most demanding tests of individual soldier skill; the annual Expert Infantry Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Expert Soldier Badge event, known as E3B, April 27 to May 8, 2026.

Across 30 graded lanes, Soldiers pushed their limits in weapons proficiency, patrol techniques, medical tasks, and physical fitness challenges to earn one of the Army's three most respected badges.

The EIB recognizes infantry and Special Forces soldiers.
The EFMB honors field medical personnel.
The ESB, the newest of the three, opens that standard of excellence to soldiers across all other career fields.

All three demand the same thing: meeting the U.S. Army's highest standard.
