Let's talk about this picture for a minute.

I know it means more to others, and some a whole lot more.

But to me...

It has a lot to say.

For me, it's a reminder of the past, living in the present, and the drive for the future and all things to come.

It's a reminder of my first stepping foot in the gym back in 2013. The struggles and lessons learned from them.

I was a very insecure individual as I had been depressed for a long time. I was not confident in my ability in life, much less in fitness.

When the MSU gym closed for Christmas break, I got a membership at Strong Gym.

On my first day, Matt Renolds walked up to me while benching and asked me why I wasn't touching my chest. 😅
I explained what I had read and poked me in the chest as he said, "No, you touch your chest."

This is around the time I heard about the infamous John Gorman

As a young lifter, the stories seemed like he was the real deal...

Later on, after I was in personal training, I saw him post about looking for trainers for his Anytime Fitness location.

I jumped on the opportunity. I viewed it as the opportunity to get involved with someone I had watched and been looking up to as a coach for some time...

After about a year he was needing a gym manager; he offered the position to me, and I jumped on it for multiple reasons.

The biggest reason was that I knew deep inside that i needed to find a way to repay him.
You see, John had already helped me grow my business in a variety of ways, and I was extremely grateful, so I ran him gym like it was my own.

In turn, he gives me credit for him not having to worry about the gym to grow Phat Muscle like he has...

But let's be real, though, that dude would have still put his heart and sole into it.

Remember how I said he "seemed" like the real deal?

Like anyone that really has interactions with him knows... he is.

This picture makes me grateful for the journey, the help, and excitec to see what's next.
