It’s that time of year. As you begin your back to school shopping, consider purchasing additional supplies for families less fortunate. Contact Ministries will accept your donations Monday through Thursday, 9am-1pm, at our facility on 11th & Adams. School supplies will be provided to children staying in our shelters as well as to families in need within our community.

As temperatures rise, do you need to find a cooling center for you, a loved one, or a neighbor? United Way of Central Illinois’ 211 has the most up-to-date information on locations across our community:

Thank you to our friends at PBJ Springfield for supplying peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the residents in our Emergency and Transitional Shelters. This group of volunteers donate THOUSANDS of sandwiches each week to centers throughout our community, providing much appreciated nutrition to people in need.

If you would like to be involved by donating peanut butter, jelly, bread, and/or ziplock bags - or making sandwiches either with your own or an existing group - please contact Kathy at 1 217-502-0435.
