✨ Where They Landed: Renee Sims | Hospitality Leadership Alum

Renee Sims didn’t just learn about hospitality in the classroom, she got to see it in action. Now, she’s taking those lessons into her career at Omni Hotels and Resorts Oklahoma City.

As a Catering Coordinator, Renee helps bring meetings, conferences, conventions, and special events to life by keeping teams aligned and ensuring every detail is in place behind the scenes.

“There's something special about helping planners create meaningful moments for their attendees while showcasing the best of our company and the city we represent.”

During her time in Hospitality Leadership, Renee built a strong foundation through Special Event Planning with Professor Bekebrede, where coordination and teamwork came together, highlighting the level of detail behind every event.

The Theme Park Management Certificate added another layer, offering a closer look at how industry leaders at Silver Dollar City think about guest experience, creativity, and the small ideas that can shape something much bigger.

Her advice for future hospitality leaders? “Expand your network, don’t be afraid to say yes to new experiences, and never stop learning.”
