On this guided tour, you'll visit meaningful sites and meet dedicated individuals who share stories of Springfield's early residents. The Underground Railroad, a network of committed people and places, played an essential role in Springfield’s history, making it a destination for freedom seekers and activists.
Reserve your spot for the walking tour by purchasing tickets in advance on Eventbrite or paying at the door. The tour departs from the Tower Square lobby at 10:30am and ends at 12pm. Tickets are $5 for Springfield Preservation Trust, Springfield Museums & PAHMUSA members, and $10 for non-members. Tomorrow, please attend the 2026 Springfield Preservation Trust Preservation Awards at South Congregational Church, 45 Maple Street. Parking is available in the church lot on May 21. The event starts at 7pm. This is the perfect way to celebrate Preservation Month!
