Get ready for trailers to go back to being naked again!!
U.S. court voids emissions rules for heavy-duty truck trailers A U.S. appeals court on Friday tossed out greenhouse gas emissions rules for heavy-duty truck trailers, ruling two government agencies had exceeded their authority.
Time for an update!!
Well.... It's been 6 weeks or so at the new place and so far, it looks awesome on many levels!
In the 6 weeks or so that I've been here, all my initial goals are being met. I have complete control over my time, load selections, dwell time, utilization rate, and... AND complete transparency in viewing the numbers. All the s**t barriers that was causing growth and revenue problems in the past have been blasted out of the way! Trucking is FUN again 😂
The money is great enough that I took a week of hometime in the 2nd week. I've run another 4 weeks and have stopped again for another week back here in Vegas to visit with the wife while she house sits for her sister.
With this schedule .... I don't have any 6 consecutive numbers to report as of yet. When this break is over on Saturday, I should be out for the 6 weeks needed to truly get metric operational numbers I can report off of.
As of now... Gross income is up 70%. Operational costs are reduced by 30%. Gross vs Net is depositing about 62% into the bank each week. These are rough numbers, obviously... Having 6 consecutive weeks of uninterrupted numbers will provide the clearest and most realistic picture.
The take-away at this point is this fact: All the bulls**t operational problems that were being injected by others claiming, "We want you to succeed" ...all the while tripping you up with non-logical crap and apathy, is gone. There is no one in my way any more. 100% success or failure rests completely in my hands and it's nice. :-)
It's nice to have REAL freedom and control. I pick the load, call the broker, and negotiate on my own. I get a copy of the ratecon, back office work is handled for 8% and i see all numbers. Settlement pay is weekly with zero cost factoring and no backcharges. What gets scanned in by Monday afternoon is paid out by that Friday at the latest. A lot is done by the authority owner's office staff while still paying out 92% to the truck.
Let me head off the early questions now....
"No" ...
They are not looking to add O/O's right now.
They do not have company driver positions.
They do not lease equipment.
As things change, I will update yall.
Be good. Be safe. Stay tuned.
