Last night I was sworn in as a new member of the SPS board by Shane Schoeller, Greene Co. Clerk.

It is an honor to serve our community in this role. I am humbled by the support. I’ve been a team player my entire life. Though my seat has changed at SPS over the years, my commitment to do what’s best for kids, our teachers, families and community remains the same. There are bright days ahead.

THANK YOU! Together, we ran a strong campaign to get out the vote. The results are a WIN for our children and educators! It’s a WIN for families and our community!

The results send a clear message—our community cares about having a school board member who will do what’s best for kids. Every child deserves our best efforts for a successful life.

I have always believed—and I know you join me—there will be positive, measurable support for our teachers and students to experience a respectful classroom environment where learning will take place.

An educated public makes great decisions to move the Springfield community and the Springfield Schools forward for the next generation. I am honored to have the support of our community!

Years of experience have taught me to find a "win" in every circumstance. I am a team-player, and I understand how to identify and work together in an effort to provide creative solutions to complex problems. As a member of the SPS board, I will support policies and practices that promote fair compensation for employees while always focusing on the well-being of families and students. The board’s focus should always be on student learning while preparing them for a successful life beyond their K-12 education.

Public schools have limited funding, and the school board must ensure the money is being used to support the approved district strategic plan, while providing accountability to the taxpayer.

As a member on the SPS board, I will be a good steward of public funds. I will listen to ensure our collective children and grandchildren get the resources they need to succeed.
