Día De Los Mu***os is a traditional Mexican holiday said to reunite the living and the dead in a touching reunion filled with love and celebration. Families create ofrendas (offerings), adorned with photographs, mementos, and favorite items of the departed. This multi day celebration, typically occurring from Nov 1- 2, is a beautiful reminder of coming together, reminiscing, and sharing stories that keep us connected. 🖼️ ❣️

During this holiday, street celebrations come alive with processions, music, and traditional dance, showcasing the day’s rich background. Calaveras (skulls made from sugar), and beautifully crafted papel picado (perforated paper art) enhance the beauty of the holiday. 🎊

This celebration enriches a sense of community, remembrance, and ensures that the legacy of the departed lives on. ¡Feliz Día De Los Mu***os! 💀💐

October is Filipino-American Heritage Month! 🇵🇭❣️

Congress first recognized Filipino American History Month in 2009, leading to the first ever Filipino American History Month celebration hosted by the White House in 2015. 🎉💐

This year’s theme focuses on Filipino American Migration and Movement, on the 60th anniversary of the Congressional Act that opened many doors for Filipinos to come to America. Today, there are over 4 million Filipino Americans in the U.S., making them one of the largest Asian American populations in the nation.

Now, more than ever, it is important to celebrate history, embrace humanity, and recognize the strength of those who have contributed significantly to improving and enriching this nation’s communities and foundations. This month, we honor the milestones of many Filipino Americans as we honor their ancestral roots and stand in solidarity for others who are actively trying to preserve their roots. 💐❤️
