He Makes All Things New

"God has a way of reviving the dead things within you, plowing up the soil of your heart, planting and watering seeds of hope, and bringing forth a garden in a place once barren. “Now it springs up,” He says, “I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Now it springs up…now…today…at this very moment even, He is springing forth in you something that is new…something that wasn’t there before. In the dark places of your heart, the desert places where you see no way, He is making a way. The places in you that are dry and full of waste, He is bringing water to those places. How do I know? Because He has done it in me. And He will do it in you. Because that’s what He promises in His Word."

Throwback Thursday Thoughts - Living Like a Crazy Person

"So am I crazy? Yeah. I’m crazy for Him. Nothing I do in His name makes any kind of worldly sense. I pray for those that hurt me and try to become like a servant, making myself last so that He might make me first. Am I stupid? Yeah. I’m stupid for Him. Most of the choices I make don’t look like smart ones when stacked up against the wisdom of the world. I tithe when I don’t have any money, I give away the things my flesh feels like it should keep, and I make life choices that don’t make sense to others. Am I weak? Yeah. I’m as weak as they come and thrilled to be able to admit it out loud. There isn’t one thing I can do on my own. I will constantly be asking for His ever present help. I will wear all three of those labels and wear them proudly. Why? Because, “the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your calling brothers; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” -1 Corinthians 1:25-29
May we all find ourselves crazy, stupid, and weak for Him."
