Are you passionate about the vital role public utilities play in our community?

Springfield Utility Board (SUB) is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on our Board of Directors, Position 3, with a term expiring December 31, 2026. To be eligible, candidates must be registered voters who have been residents of the City of Springfield for at least one year prior to appointment. Candidates must also be prepared to seek election for the balance of the unexpired term in the November 2026 General Election.

The five-member elected Board is SUB’s governing body and sets policy for the utility. More information about Board duties and responsibilities, as well as how to apply, can be found at SUB’s website.

Applications may be submitted by email to [email protected], dropped off at SUB’s main office at 250 A Street in Springfield, or mailed to: SUB, ATTN: General Manager, PO Box 300, Springfield, OR 97477.

The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026.

May 8th is the 4th Annual Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Celebration at Guy Lee Elementary here in Springfield! It's sure the be an amazing day filled with food, fun, and cultural appreciation.

A fun and free, family-friendly event featuring:

Culturally focused performances from Phi Long Lion Dancers, Eugene Taiko and Waka Daiko

Food trucks with amazing AANHPI menus: Bobablastic, OG Poke, Chaiyo Thai, Kona Ice, T-Swirl, Taste of India, Kento, and Jing Jing's Filipino food

Kids activities centered around AANHPI cultures and what makes them special! Calligraphy, Henna, and Lei Making are just a few of the fun activities that are planned.

Events like these that make Springfield an inviting place for all who live here.
