I’m continually reminded that when we faithfully steward the opportunities we’re given, God has a way of opening doors we never could have planned ourselves. I’m grateful to keep walking through them.

There are moments in a professional journey that remind you just how much there is still to learn and how grateful I am to be surrounded by people who are willing to share their wisdom so generously.

I continue to be humbled by the opportunities God has placed before me.

Last November, I had the privilege of co-presenting a pre-conference training at the Illinois Counseling Association Annual Conference with my colleague and co-creator, Dr. Sarah Criss, where we introduced the Applied Polyvagal Model (APM)™ of Clinical Supervision. Watching this model continue to grow has been both exciting and deeply meaningful.

During that conference, I also had the opportunity to spend time speaking with Dr. Victoria Kress Ph.D., LPCC-S, NCC, CCMHC . Her journey in counselor education, leadership, and service continues to inspire so many of us. I am grateful for her generosity, encouragement, and the guidance she shared during our conversation.

This week, I had another incredible opportunity to present at the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Clinical Supervision. I left feeling both inspired and challenged after learning from so many remarkable scholars and leaders, including Dr. Rodney Goodyear, Dr. L. Diane Borders, Rebecca Engle M. Ed, and Dr. Milena Esherick, PsyD . Their work is helping shape the future of our profession, and I am thankful to have met and learned from each of them.

As I reflect on these experiences, I am reminded that meaningful growth happens in community. Every conversation, every collaboration, and every opportunity to teach and learn strengthens the work we do for those we serve.

I’m especially excited about what’s ahead. Dr. Criss and I are continuing to develop the Applied Polyvagal Model (APM)™ of Clinical Supervision, with new opportunities and announcements on the horizon. We are looking forward to additional trainings this fall and continuing conversations around supervision, educator well-being, neurobiology, and creating spaces where both clinicians and clients can thrive.

If your organization, university, or conference is interested in learning more about the APM model or exploring training or speaking opportunities, I’d love to connect. Please feel free to send me a message.

To everyone who has invested in me along the way be it through encouragement, mentorship, collaboration, or simply believing in the work, thank you.

I’m continually reminded that when we faithfully steward the opportunities we’re given, God has a way of opening doors we never could have planned ourselves. I’m grateful to keep walking through them.
