Night Carver Designs

After many hours of drawing, it’s finally ready to be carved.

At this point, I couldn’t have been more excited. There’s something so cool about creating a design on an iPad and then watching it come to life in the real world.

This won’t be just a CNC project, though. Once the machine work is done, I’ll be jumping in with power carving to add depth, texture, and all the details that make a piece feel alive.

And if you’re wondering what it is, it’s the Technodrome from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — one of the most iconic villain bases from my childhood and a project I’ve wanted to tackle for a long time. 🐢⚡️

Now it’s time to turn this drawing into sawdust.

Shaping wood can be challenging, but with careful sectioning and smoothing, even a first-timer can achieve great results.

Keep refining until you're happy, then move on to sanding.

You’ll get better with practice and come up with some fun, unique designs.

I wanted to show you the first time I ever made this template so that you could see that we all start somewhere and it can only get better.
