Your child might be growing up afraid of Allah without you even realizing it.

That is the quiet damage of fear-based parenting. When every lesson is "do this or else," Allah stops being a source of mercy. He becomes a cosmic cop. Always watching. Always waiting for your child to slip up.

But there is a second trap parents fall into. The magic genie version of Allah. Pray your salah, get what you want. Make dua, expect the result. It sounds devotion. It is actually a transaction.

And transactions collapse the moment Allah says no.

Because He will say no sometimes. That is the test. And if your child's entire relationship with Allah is built on "I give,
You deliver" — one unanswered dua can shatter their faith completely.

The relationship with Allah was never meant to be fear or business. It was meant to be love, trust, and surrender.

Tonight, have one conversation with your child about a time Allah's "no" turned into something better.

Teach them Tawakkul before life teaches them doubt.

Ten children. Never kissed a single one. And he said it like it was something to be proud of.

Here is the problem. There is an entire generation of Muslim men who were raised to believe that affection is softness.

That kissing your child, holding them, telling them you love them somehow makes you less of a man.

Why does this happen? Because somewhere along the way, culture hijacked our deen. Toughness got confused with coldness. Discipline got confused with distance.

And now our children are growing up emotionally starved by fathers who love them deeply but never learned how to show it.

The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa salam, kissed Hasan in front of everyone. Publicly. Without hesitation. And when a man boasted about never kissing his children, the Prophet did not celebrate him. He corrected him.

"He who does not show mercy toward his children, no mercy will be shown to him."

That is not a suggestion. That is a warning from the most merciful of men.

The actionable advice: Today, before your child sleeps, kiss them. Hold them. Say it out loud. It will not make you weak. It will make you Prophetic.
