In March, youth from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, had a chance to go to a day at the state of Missouri Capitol and meet with representatives and learn about state government.
Youth got to meet with their state representatives and the lieutenant governor among others.

Brody Quale, a young member of the Nixa Ward, said it was an amazing experience for him educationally and spiritually.

“It was so fun to hear all the different voices and opinions,” he said. “It was really cool to see how much our government revolves around a belief in God. They said prayers before meetings and I learned that George Washington actually said a prayer on behalf of the United States asking for a protection and a blessing on our nation.”

Brittni Carr, a member of the Nixa congregation, shares her feelings about the events of Holy Week.

“I love the stories that come from Holy Week. It’s one of my favorite topics to study in the scriptures. The people jump out of the pages for me. I find so much of myself in Martha, Mary, Peter, Thomas, Barabas and many others. They are real people who loved and served Jesus, made mistakes and had a lot to learn just like I do. The obvious crowning jewel being the Savior’s resurrection. Knowing the things that happened leading up to Easter makes my testimony even stronger because it all points to God having a plan for us. I’m so grateful to know my Savior lives and loves me.”
