Jesus and the Rest of the Triune God | Sermons From The Table 06/01/2026

"But in remembering and anticipating together each Sunday, we call our souls back to rest in the present, too. Through the same Word by which God created and sustains everything that is, has been, or ever will be, He has secured us as His own forever. The God who simply spoke and stars, mountains, birds, and plants came into existence is the same God who has redeemed us, has adopted us, who knows the number of hairs on our heads, and who preserves our every tear as a precious treasure. If you have trusted in Christ, you are as likely to wake up tomorrow outside of the love and care of God as you are to wake up tomorrow to find that stars, mountains, birds, and plants are no longer things."

A Holy, Suffering, Hopeful Community | Sermons From The Table 05/27/2026

"Who in their right mind would desire baptism for themselves or their children? What could ever convince someone to be joined to a community called to pursue holiness and endure suffering? The answer is hope. Hope in the promises and proven character of God. Hope in the power of the cross and the triumph of the empty tomb. Hope in the transforming power of the indwelling Spirit. Hope that whatever faithfulness in this age costs us will be more than repaid in the age to come. Hope that, whatever happens, our destiny is to forever participate in the life and love of the Triune God in whose name we are baptized."

Holy Begets Holy | Sermons From The Table 04/29/2026

Holiness is what orients how we live towards each other, towards God, and towards the world. Holiness is our response to eternal adoption and temporary persecution, to both our salvation and our suffering. In all circumstances, at all times, it ought to be the most glaringly obvious evidence that we are the people of God. Just as children resemble their biological parents, so we ought to look like the Father who has rebirthed us through the Son. People ought to be able to look at our life together here at The Table and say, “Oh, you’re Yahweh’s kids are ‘t you?” That should be our goal. Holy Spirit, make it so.

Holiness Rooted in Hope | Sermons From The Table 04/13/2026

"But the people of God have been offered a different story – one that begins before time itself and ends after time is no longer a thing. It’s a story that tells us we are adopted children of God and co-heirs of Christ. It tells us of the glorious future that awaits and the responsibilities we have in the present as ambassadors of that coming kingdom. It is a story that creates eternal family out of former enemies and tells us to love any enemies that remain in the hopes that they become family, too. It is a story anchored in unassailable hope that produces in us holiness by the power of the Spirit who makes the story ours. Because holiness, properly understood, is rooted in hope."
