Camdenton Speech and Debate

We had a great week at Nationals in Richmond. While we aren’t bringing home trophies, we are bringing home memories that will last much longer than those trophies (although Nats trophies are the best). We truly had a great week competing and exploring many historic sites. We ended with a trip to Colonial Williamsburg, the Maymont Mansion, and another stop at the New River Gorge National Park. Now we are ready to be home.

Day 3 of competition over and starting day 4. All 4 kids competed in their supplemental events yesterday and today Ethan is still competing in Extemp Debate. This is the event that brings us all together! Love watching them work as a team even though there are multiple schools represented here!

We had a great weekend competing at Fair Grove High School for MSHSAA Districts. These kids have really kicked it in gear these past few weeks and their hard work shows! Please congratulate our State Qualifiers:

Maddi Keller and Emily Kupfer—2nd place in Public Forum Debate
Ethan Cody and Grace Law—3rd place in Public Forum Debate
Hunter Harris—3rd place in Storytelling
Ethan Cody—3rd place in US Extemporaneous Speaking
Grace Law—4th place in Prose
Nobel Mallahan—4th place in Informative Speaking

Our team placed 2nd overall in Debate!
