Purposeful Birth & Beyond
After my inner maternal voice was shut down and scared into hiding with my daughters birth. I knew with my second I was going to do everything in my power to do it all different.
I took educating myself into my own hands, and the largest tool for this was my Hypnobirthing course.
It not only resorted my material instinct that was made to feel as an inconvenience….it strengthened it, encouraged it and empowered me to have the confidence in my body and baby.
Hypnobirthing taught me how my body and baby work together: building confidence 💪🏼
Showed me that birth is normal and a natural function: helped me to visualize 👀
And taught me to relax and let go of the rest: bringing ease and peace ✨
This experience was so positive for not only myself but also my partner that I knew I needed to learn more and share with others.
So I became a certified Hypnobirthing Educator through

Hypnobirthing Myth’s
•Hypnobirthing is only for home births
•Hypnobirthing is only for unmedicated births
•Hypnobirthing is only for those that meditate and practice yoga
•If I’m not silent when birthing it’s not Hypnobirthing
•If I push when birthing it’s not Hypnobirthing
•I can’t do Hypnobirthing if I’m being induced
•C-section birth is can’t be Hypnobirthing
While many who use Hypnobirthing have unmedicated out of hospital births and are quiet as they breathe their baby down…that’s only the goal if that’s YOUR goal.
In Hypnobirthing it is all about educating, supporting and preparing you for YOUR birth plan. No matter what that looks like.

“You can get an epidural and we can have a birthday party or you can not and we have a screaming party”
This was the response when I told my L&D nurse that I was “open to getting an epidural but would really like to try without.”
Fear washed over my body immediately. This was before I had even made it to my L&D room, I was shaking and crying by the time we got there. My prior excitement and vision for my birth was gone before I even had a chance to “try”.
This is why when I became pregnant again I was determined to educate myself and my partner (to act as an advocate and support) to prepare my mind and body and heal from my previous birth experience.
So no one else could “scare me” out of following my natural maternal instinct and why I am passionate about helping other do the same.

Some of my FAVORITES things about HypnoBirthing;
•The use of affirmations
~Affirmations are something I have been using and have been passionate about for over 5 years now. Our words/thoughts have power and I go over exactly how to construct an affirmation to be most effective along with provided affirmation track to list/meditate to as well. ✨
My favorite affirmation while in labor: “You are safe, baby is safe.”
•Involvement of partner
~I believe partners should not be on lookers or bystanders during pregnancy and birth. I believe support does not look the same for each birthing individual but we will identify and find ways that you feel most supportive for YOU.🫶🏼
Grade A partner and support: My husband, Dane
•Emphasis on a supportive care provider
~No matter what it is you are wanting for your birth, you should have a care provider that supports that. If they dont, gentle reminder, it’s never too late to switch.

The HypnoBirthing Premise
“For most of their lives, women have been inundated with the negative stories of other women’s birth experiences. Everyone, from their mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, and even strangers, wants to tell them horrors about giving birth. They have been conditioned to believe that excruciating pain is associated with labor; and because of this, women today hold an unprecedented fear of giving birth. This extreme fear causes their bodies to become tense, and that tension prohibits their bodies from easily performing a normal physiological function. The result is exactly what they feared most–long, painful birthing or unnecessary intervention.
People who are drawn to HypnoBirthing® have long been searching for a way to give birth confidently and as calmly, safely, and gently as possible, whether they have chosen to birth in a hospital, a birthing center, or at home. Since the medicalization of birth, this kind of birthing (HypnoBirthing®) almost seemed unattainable for the general population.
Through a very simple program of self-hypnosis and education, healthy, low-risk women, as well as women who need medical assistance because of special circumstances, learn to dismiss fear-based stories, misinformation, and birthing myths; and they are helped to see birth as normal. They learn to trust that their bodies know how to bring their babies into the world in the calm and gentle way: the way that nature intended.”
