🐾 Found a Stray Animal? Here's What to Do 🐾

If you come across a stray dog or cat in Effingham County, taking a few simple steps can help reunite the animal with its owner as quickly as possible.

✅ Contact Effingham County Animal Shelter at 912-754-2109.
✅ Do not pick up the animal if you are not prepared to hold on to it.
✅ Shelter staff may intake the animal if there is space.
✅ If there is no space, a stray hold can be started and can last three or more days.
✅ After the hold, the animal may come in when space is available.
