The MOORE Expo

Sometimes kids remind us what generosity really looks like.

A last-minute booth cancellation unexpectedly opened up a small space at MOORE Expo this year. While we were discussing what to do with it, our daughter Rowyn overheard us and immediately spoke up:
“What if I had my own booth?”

Her plan was simple. She wanted to sell rocks she had collected during our family travels over the years so she could earn some money for summer activities. Honestly, I thought it was a pretty awesome entrepreneurial idea for a 9-year-old.

But then something happened that completely changed the story.

On the morning of the first day of the expo, Rowyn told me she had made a different decision.

She said helping NCMEC was more important than helping herself.

Instead of keeping the money she earned, Rowyn pledged to donate 100% of the proceeds from her booth to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children so she could help kids who needed it more than she did.

She didn’t put prices on the rocks.
Each rock came with a sticker and a QR code, and she simply asked people to make a donation if they felt led to support the cause.

What happened next absolutely blew us away.
At just 9 years old, Rowyn Holloway raised $650.00 for NCMEC.

But more importantly, she reminded all of us what compassion, empathy, and selflessness truly look like.
