The Olympics reminded us why sports storytelling matters more than ever.
Every two years, NBC and Team USA turn athletes into household names through powerful storytelling. They make us care about people we’ve never met and sports we rarely watch.
That emotional connection is exactly what college athletics can tap into year‑round.
My newest blog breaks down how Olympic‑style storytelling can elevate athlete brands, strengthen NIL partnerships, deepen fan loyalty, and build legacy for universities and communities.
If you love sports, storytelling, or creative strategy, this one is worth the read.

Long form storytelling is transforming athletic content, and this season made that clearer than ever. When I’m behind the camera, my goal is to bring viewers inside the emotion, the tension, and the humanity of an athlete’s journey. That approach shaped our weekly cinematic recaps for MSU Football, and they quickly became our most engaging content across every platform, consistently hitting 20K–30K+ views.
Two seasons ago, I created The Maroonprint, a multi‑episode series on the players, coaches, and history of MSU Football. One episode about our historic McDonald Arena locker room and underground tunnel didn’t just connect with fans. It sparked a multi‑million‑dollar renovation campaign to rebuild the locker rooms, weight room, staff offices, and bring the tunnel back to life.
That’s the impact of long form storytelling. It builds connection. It builds identity. It builds legacy.

The Content Trend No Athletic Department Can Ignore: Long‑Form Storytelling When I step behind the camera, the world slows down. Light hits differently. Breathing shifts. Every frame becomes a chance to pull someone deeper into a moment they were never physically in, but can feel as if they lived.
