Happy February from Rumble! We are so excited to be introducing something new to our page this year! Every month we will post a different fact sheet highlighting an insect that we commonly see and are able to treat. Give us a call if you are seeing these, we will absolutely get them taken care of for you. If you're signed up for our Quarterly Service, you are eligible for those free return treatments!

This month we will focus on the Brown Recluse spider.
The telltale sign of a brown recluse is the violin shaped marking on their back. Like many spiders, the brown recluse spider likes to stay secluded in dark corners of places that are rarely disturbed or cleaned. Unlike many spiders, they showcase 6 eyes as opposed to the typical 8. They are venomous, but are not typically aggressive and usually only bite when pressed against skin, such as in clothing or bedding. Their habitation behaviors include locations indoors such as under kitchen cabinets, storage areas, and basements inside houses which can provide plenty of areas for these pests to hide. In the outdoors, these spiders may inhabit sheds, barns and garages, and may unknowingly be brought inside a home when moving stored items inside.
