The build process continues for our new FTM-2 machines.
With many of the parts now finished and filling up our storage bins, our fabricators have been busy welding the frame, building the coil stand and prepping it all for its first coat of paint.

This new version of the FTM, which stands for "Feeding Tube Machine" will have a faster and simpler tool change along with the cutter head being more rigid and improved. It still features tube capacity of 3/16's to 1/2 inch tube.

This multi-process machine incorporates tube straightening, cutting, forming, and bending processes all into one machine, from raw tube tube to finished part, saving space, time and labor.

Since 1978, Carson Engineering & MFG has specialized in the design, engineer and build of tube forming equipment that is made right here in the U.S.A.

Check out some of our highlight shots of some of our machines in action including one of our newer machines, the FTM-1, which will decoil raw tube ranging from 5 mm to 1/2 inch, with passive or assisted unspooling from a servo-controlled hitch feed. It also contains a tube cutter and jaw press to cut and reduce with over 4 tons of force. A mounted robotic arm, for facilitated part movement, which allows for a compact and completely automated process. 0-to-90-degree tube bend angle, with a servo adjusted bend locator, and a user-friendly touchscreen interface.

Check out our build progress so far of our seven head BCX-3, tube expander! Each expander head can be dedicated to a different tube size, giving you a zero setup up time for your daily operation. You can mount and use just a single head expander for small operations, or a multiple-head configuration as shown, for expanding a wide variety of tube sizes without changing the tooling head.

This type of tube expander is designed for expanding thin walled tube in order to receive a tube of the same O.D. for a braze joint.

Operation of the BCX-3 is simple, quick and easy. You place a tube over a mandrel on the expander head and depress the foot-operated valve which quickly and safely expands the tube end.

Designed and built here in the USA, they are built to last and outperform our competitors.

Our newly designed Carson model TRC-2 machine, effectively closes tube ends to a flat end, in a cold process that is durable, quick, safe for the operator and saves on material, saving money and maximizing your profit.

It has been outfitted with a touch screen HDMI interface, allowing for ease of workflow and change of set up.

It successfully works on copper, aluminum, brass, or steel tubes and can close tube ends either before or after bending and hole punching operations.

The maximum size capacity is 1 5/8” O.D. copper tube.
