Last November, Blackbird Salon’s long-time client and friend, Robin, received news that would change her life forever, a diagnosis of a rare brain cancer. Soon after, she began losing her hair.

For the last two years, Blackbird Salon owner, Jennifer has felt deeply called to help women experiencing hair loss, whether from thinning hair, chemotherapy, post-chemo regrowth, or hormonal changes.

Hair is so much more than “just hair.”
It’s identity, confidence, femininity, and strength.

In April, Jennifer traveled to Connecticut for hands-on education focused on customizing wigs and toppers so the Blackbird team could better support women walking through these deeply personal seasons of life.

After 18 years behind the chair, Jennifer has seen more women struggling with hair loss than ever before. She knew she wanted Blackbird to become a safe place for those women.

Robin trusted Jennifer during one of the hardest chapters of her life, and helping her feel beautiful again, even for a moment, it became a reminder of exactly why this work matters so much.
