Texas Edge Home Inspections, PLLC
It’s Not Supposed To Do That ®️– Episode 227
This is the stuff that looks fine… until someone actually looks.
Some issues are minor. Some are serious. And some have been “like that for years.”
If you’ve ever looked at something in your house and thought, “that doesn’t look right…” — you’re probably correct.

Post it to your story, tag .edge.inspect, and use — I may feature it in an upcoming episode.

If you’re gonna do it, do it right.
Some of the things we find during a free pre-drywall inspection leave us asking one simple question… why?
Some issues are just plain wrong. Others might technically meet the minimum standard, but you still have to wonder… why would anyone build it that way?
Too often, construction moves so fast that mistakes get made, and instead of slowing down long enough to fix them correctly, everyone just keeps pushing forward.
That’s exactly why we inspect before the drywall goes up. It’s much easier—and a whole lot cheaper—to fix these problems now than after the house is finished.
Everyone Missed This! 🤦♂️
One of the most disappointing parts of new construction inspections isn’t finding complicated defects—it’s finding the obvious ones.
Some issues are hidden and take experience and specialized tools to uncover. That’s part of the job. But many of the things I find could have been caught with a simple walkthrough and a little attention to detail.
I’m thankful these inspections exist because they help protect my clients, and yes, they keep me in business. But I’d rather see buyers get the quality they paid for than spend more money finding problems that never should have made it to closing.
A new home should come with confidence—not a growing repair list.
