MEET ROY! The Ultimate Lap Lounging Adventure Buddy!

If you're looking for a "go-anywhere" companion who is equal parts athletic trailblazer and professional couch potato? Then let us introduce you to Roy! At the perfect medium size, he is not too big and not too small—making him the ideal size for any adventure you have planned.

Roy is an incredibly people-oriented guy who lives to be close to his humans. When we say he’s a lovebug, we mean it literally! His absolute favorite thing is to curl up right in your lap and hug you, tucking his head under your chin right next to your heart. He has recently discovered the magic of the couch and is officially hooked. His idea of a perfect night in involves expert-level cuddle sessions while you cradle him close for a movie marathon.

But don't let his newfound love for luxury fool you! Roy is a little athlete who would make a fantastic workout partner or hiking buddy. When it comes to other pups, Roy is dog-friendly but a bit selective about his inner circle. He’s either super into making a new bestie, or he’s completely indifferent and couldn't care less about them. So if he says you’re cool then you know it must be true!

Just some foster dog fun! It's beyond a pleasure to get to cherish and love these dogs and help them learn new life skills, and Joys that they deserve. Yes, every foster dog's journey looks very different, and these guys are no exception. But they all seem to be settling in great and enjoying themselves to the fullest!

This week the Equilibrium house has become home to a new set of wonderful foster dogs! Meet Jarvis, Roy and Eddie! We took Jarvis on from the wonderful team at K-9 Angels Rescue Houston ! We are thrilled to support and foster for a group that has done so much for so many different dogs and communities around the greater Houston area!

Jarvis is gonna be a slow burn, this darlin boy has some major insecurities to work through. Along with confidence and social skills that need work as well but as we build our relationship and help be able to support him through his training and eventual adoption journey we are glad to bring you along!

Roy and Eddie on the other hand, thanks to the support of K-9 Angels Rescue Houston were able to be sprung from our local county shelter! Unfortunately the shelter we have been volunteering with for over a year now has made the sad decision to start implementing euthanization. And some of our beloved shelter dogs such as these two beautiful boys are on the list of dogs we are desperately trying to get out before it's too late. These two are now safe! And will be living it up in the Equilibrium house getting the training and support they need to make it to their happily ever after. They're both highly social sweet dogs so it won't be long until they're officially available for adoption!

There's still a lot of work to be done for the rest of our shelter dog family but Equilibrium Canine Academy is working diligently with other volunteers and rescue groups to try and save as many as we can!

Back yard projects are underway at the Equilibrium house this is one of our many diy's we've been working on. Took some good teamwork Yuri was the over seeing project manager for this one sniff checked every piece of wood we selected at the store! I did just about all the cutting and Tyler did most of the assembly and stress testing.This playscape dog walk isn't quite finished yet but the dogs have decided they like it already! We'll be rolling out a few more additions to our play yard soon!

I'm not cake decorator but Im pretty proud of this veggie peanut butter cake 😂 fun day in the Equilibrium house! Chunky is now 2 years old!

Just a chunky boi doing good dog stuff. Practicing obedience, doing muzzle work, working on dog neutrality, enjoying enrichment, chilling out on the couch, project managing and perching on all the things.
Chunky is a fantastic and very happy go lucky dog and it makes me so happy that he continues to have a blast through his training process and shows how much he thrives with the added communication and values the relationship we've built through steady and clear expectations and respect. He thinks training is a super fun game and that the challenges while complicated at times, like sitting on place while guests come in and enjoy dinner at the Equilibrium house. He takes it in stride and continues to outdo himself. Go chunky go!

An intense game of fetch is Yuri's favorite way to end a training session! Just look at her fly! That's sooo Fetch!

Here comes Chunky! Chunk also started his own 4 week board and train yesterday and is so excited to be spending even more time with his favorite treat dealer! Chunky has been taking private lessons leading up to this planned stay for a couple weeks and has melded into the Equilibrium house very nicely!

Say hi to Yuri!!! This wild girl just started her 3 week Board + Train program and is already having a blast and getting the hang of life in the Equilibrium house!
