Nerissa is our gorgeous dilute tortie queen with the most mesmerizing green eyes you'll ever see. She survived being shot and losing a front leg, but she never lost her fierce spirit—or her impeccable ability to vanish the moment a human gets optimistic.

Some cats warm up after enough treats.

Nerissa believes treats should simply be deposited, the human should slowly back away, and everyone should pretend they never saw each other.

Honestly? We respect the boundaries.

She may never curl up in a lap or ask for chin scratches, but every day she reminds us that rescue isn't about turning every cat into a cuddly companion. Sometimes it's about giving a wary little survivor a safe place where she never has to be afraid again.
