To all the leak detection companies that are tired of other companies hiring them and then either dragging their feet to pay or not paying, I think we should come together and create a list of companies that we all have issues with and share. That way none of us are being taken advantage of by unethical customers. At least not by the ones that are repetitive.
If you think this is an idea that interest you, compile your list. I will add it to our list of "never work for again" customers and we can share.
I want to be clear this is not a revenge issue. This is solely to aid our businesses from being taken advantage of and prevent lost revenue for our businesses.
I think we need to make sure to list why they have made the list, to prevent this from being just as unethical as they have been.
Here is a list of reasons we place someone on the list:
1. Non payment for work completed as explained in our work authorization emails and letters which they have approved and signed.
2. Multiple, I mean five or six, times of us chasing them down for payments for jobs completed.
3. Unethical business practices. examples:
a. We have been asked to lie on our reports so that insurance will cover or so a pool owner will not know that it was a warranty issue.
b. We have been asked to over charge their customers to make it "hurt".
c. We have been asked to give them preferential treatment or they will have to go somewhere else. We treat all customers the same. Businesses and homeowners alike.
