Time for a check up!

As the temperatures are rising and we are heading straight into spring, now is a great time to schedule your irrigation check up.

Depending on what your after we have two options available.

The full system check up where we make sure everything is in running order, adjust any spray heads and identify any maintenance.

or

The full system audit, which includes the full check up but also tests the efficiency of the system, identifies potential water (and therefore cost) savings and gives you a month by month, zone by zone recommendation for watering times.

If you would like to find out more or book an appointment please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Take the bite out of Mosquitoes.

Did you know that your irrigation system can directly impact the amount of mosquitoes in your yard? By keeping your system well maintained you can in turn reduce the amount of mosquitoes flying around.

But How?

First ensure that none of the sprayheads are leaking, leading to standing water. Any water standing in the yard for more than 5 days is likely to start breeding mosquitoes.

Secondly make sure that your valve boxes and meter boxes are not full of water.

If they are, there are 3 things that are likely causing this, which can easily be rectified.

1. A spray head or rotor may be spraying over the valve box and therefore causing water to get inside.
2. Water run off from the ground will naturally pool in these areas.
3. The valve or meter may have a leak, which is often paired with the ground being soft nearby.

If you are unable to adjust the sprinkler heads to prevent them spraying into valve boxes or if the valve boxes are being filled by run off you can add a mosquito dunk into the box that will kill off the larvae.

If you suspect a leak, contact us and we can help you get it fixed and in turn reduce the mosquito impact of your yard.
