St. Catharine - St. Margaret Parish

ST KIZITO SCHOOL, UGANDA COMMISIONING OF SISTER CAROLE COMMONS & OTHER PROJECTS/9TH JULY 2026

The blessing and commissioning of Sister Carole Commons and other projects was presided over by Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa the Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Nakaseke district, leadership of Kasana Luweero Diocese, local leaders, catechists for nearby Catholic Parishes and Sub Parishes.
The thanksgiving Holy Mass was presided over by the Bishop. Among other celebrants were the Vicar General of the Diocese Msgr. Vincent Mukiibi, the Diocesan Education Secretary Fr. John Mary Ssekalegga, and the Program Coordinator Fr. Pontian Ssonko.
The Bishop and other guests had lunch in the Sister Carole Commons.
The District of Nakaseke and the government of Uganda extended their appreciation to Sister Carole and the Brian and Joelle Kelly Family foundation for all the support to St. Kizito’s school community to improve health and learning of the students. Other projects commissioned include the paved Campus access road, Water systems, Playfields for both girls and boys, and the Dining Complex where learners will have their meals in a safe and more hygienic environment.
The Diocese of Kasana Luweero and Rev Father Pontian Ssonko appreciated so much the fruitful partnership with Sister Carole, St Catherine/St. Margaret’s Parish and the Brian and Joelle Kelly Family Foundation. This partnership has brought St Kizito Lwetunga school from a “bush school” in 2003 to a “first class school” now.
