During my visit to Denver and the Botanical Gardens, I was drawn to Juana Silence by Jaume Plensa. The sculpture's gesture is simple yet profound: a finger to the lips, eyes gently closed, inviting us inward rather than outward. Plensa has described silence as a place of reflection and human connection, and it made me think about how much of our lives are spent responding to external noise while missing the deeper wisdom within. The subconscious mind is always communicating, but it rarely shouts. More often, it whispers. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is become quiet enough to listen. ✨

You never quite realize how tired you are, or how much you need a break, until you finally take one. I'm excited to take you with me on this vacation this week!
Where have I been? Soaking up the beauty of Colorado while visiting my son, Alexander. Although he grew up on the East Coast, he's made a wonderful life for himself in the mountains over the past four years. Watching him thrive here has been such a gift. Being surrounded by the mountains has also brought back memories of living in Aspen with my mother on and off for 10 years. There is something about this landscape, the fresh air, the clear water, and the vastness of the sky. It invites me to slow down and breathe a little deeper. I've been sleeping as soundly as the sandstone formations at Red Rocks Parks (pictured in these photos!) and feeling renewed in ways I didn't realize I needed.
Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is step away and remember that rest isn't a reward. It's part of a well-lived life. 🗻❤️More mountain insights loading...
