Since 2019, I have acquired valuable knowledge that I would like to share with you. It is essential to exercise extreme caution when selecting a dog groomer. Through my involvement in dog groomer groups, I have discovered that a staggering 90% of dog groomers harbor a strong dislike for poodle mixes or any other breed they deem subpar. This detrimental attitude often culminates in the mistreatment of dogs and public ridicule of their clients. Some groomers will subject their canine clients to abuse, causing undue stress. As a result, I ceased taking my Standard Poodle to groomers in 2019, and with the onset of the pandemic, I opted to groom my dogs personally. Although their appearance may not be flawless, I prefer a slightly imperfect look to risking the mistreatment of my dogs by a groomer harboring a hateful attitude.
Despite encountering setbacks, including the recent rain, I remain committed to establishing my business. This video captures my conversation with my boyfriend about overcoming the issues with the initial sealing compound, now replaced with a suitable alternative, thanks to his proficiency. Spring Lake Poodles and Doodles has evolved substantially, with my move and transition from breeding to grooming. My goal is to create a calming environment for dogs intimidated by traditional grooming settings, providing individualized care and handling each pet with the same affection as my own.
