We wanted to give a quick shout out to our graduate Dasher and his mom, Sheila, for going to their first show together! Dasher managed to get into all 16 finals and even recieved two Best Allbreed Alters! We couldn’t be any more pleased and happy for the duo and cannot wait to see where his show career leads!
Congratulations again guys! 🥳

Hello everyone, today my post is a little more somber. One of Marie’s little ones, the one we have dubbed Rowan here at the cattery, has been to the emergency vet. Wednesday morning I woke up to find him not doing so good. It appeared he had thrown up a bit and when I tried to stir him to walk he was dragging his back legs and collasped after a few steps. I rushed him to the emergency side of our vet where he spent the entire day.
They ran a plethora of tests and all came back normal including X-rays and bloodwork. This led to them suspecting something neurological, possibly from an injury (as it happened overnight it is hard to say for certain). However, MRIs on kittens this young are very inconclusive due to their size and how formed their structures are. While he was there he received subcutaneous fluids, a shot for nausea, and pain meds. The vets chose to go this route as it’s less invasive than an IV with how small his veins are currently.
By late afternoon he had perked up significantly and had even eaten on his own. They sent us home with more pain meds and to keep him on bed rest to continue monitoring at home. Thursday and Friday it was up and down with how steady he was on his feet and his appetite. Yesterday afternoon our personal vet there suggested switching to an anti-inflammatory steroid since the pain meds they originally prescribed can cause drowsiness and slow down the GI tract (meaning loss of appetite). As of right now he has stayed perked up and eating consistently. He is still wobbly on his back end but mobility is significantly improved.
I cannot thank our emergency veterinary team for the exceptional care given nor our personal vet on the other side who has texted us every day to stay informed and to help us every step of the way enough.
Please keep little Rowan in your thoughts and send well wishes his way!

The babies are doing well. No one has lost weight and one even gained during the first 24 hours!
