TIME TO FERTILIZE HYDRANGEAS. If you’re in zone 6 and you grow flowering shrubs such as hydrangeas, azaleas, or rhododendrons, now is the perfect time to fertilize them. We use an organic fertilizer specifically for acid loving plants and apply according to the manufacturer instructions. This helps to produce those gorgeous hydrangea blooms that we’re known for in the fall.
