o Make sure costumes fit well to prevent trips and falls.
o Use face paint instead of masks to avoid obstructing vision.
o Avoid costumes with long trailing fabric that can cause trips or catch fire.

2. TRICK-OR-TREATING SAFETY
o Go with a group or a trusted adult.
o Plan your route ahead of time and stick to well-lit streets.
o Carry a flashlight or glow sticks for visibility.
o Only visit homes with porch lights on.
o Do not enter strangers’ homes or cars.
o Use sidewalks whenever possible; if none, walk facing traffic.

3. CANDY SAFETY
