Juneteenth reminds us that freedom matters, because people matter. Today we honor the significance of June 19, 1865 and the celebration of freedom for enslaved African Americans in the United States. As a church, we want to continue growing in love, listening, understanding, and honoring the dignity of every person made in the image of God.
