Throughout the past year, Avista Foundation's generous $3,000 grant created opportunities for more than 100 refugee children and 50 parents to learn, explore, and grow. 💙
Their support helped us:
🧪 Host 4 after-hours Mobius STEM nights in partnership with Mobius Discovery Center, where more than 84 students and their families received free Mobius memberships and STEAM kits.
🐠 Take 17 students and their parents on a memorable field trip to the Blue Zoo Aquarium.
📚 Distribute more than 100 books to refugee elementary students at a literacy event.
🏫 Purchase books and supplies for our Linwood Elementary after-school club.
🤝 Bring refugee parents together with teachers and school resources through a family engagement event.
Thank you to the Avista Foundation for making these special experiences possible! 🙏

Temporary Protected Status is a program to allow people to live and work legally in the United States when their home country is too dangerous to return to.
Yesterday, a SCOTUS ruling cleared the way for the deportation of hundreds of thousands of Haitian and Syrian nationals who have been living and working in the United States under TPS, despite overwhelming evidence that conditions in those countries remain unsafe.
At a time when humanitarian crises and conflict are deepening around the world, TPS should be extended, not ended, to protect families and individuals who cannot safely return home.
