Yesterday, we got out to Fairfield bright and early to explore, enjoy the pancake feed fundraiser, and, of course, meet voters. It was a beautiful way to commemorate Flag Day. Our kids loved looking around the museum and the Flag Day pin they were each given. As an Eagle Scout, Nick especially enjoyed seeing the scouting memorabilia. Our kids loved Thiel Park and the dinosaur craft from the Spokane County Library District.

We had such a fun time watching the Spokane Indians play on Sunday. Our oldest loved seeing Doris and playing in the Kids Zone! On Saturday, we went to the Spokane Public Library summer reading program kickoff party. Both kids loved getting to play. We love getting to raise our kids here in Spokane!

On Wednesday, we went to the Vanessa Behan Promise Luncheon. We heard heartbreaking stories of the clients they serve and the work they do. Though we have been in years past, it is always so moving to hear about their good work.

Last week we enjoyed attending the Breakfast with the Chief, where we learned about what the Spokane Police Foundation and Spokane Police Department are doing for our community.

We had a great time yesterday at two events. First, we were set up at the Spokane Humane Society Parade of Paws. What a wonderful event and fundraiser for a great organization. We met a lot of adorable dogs. If dogs could vote we'd be doing very well. We also attended Neighbor Days at Felts Field Municipal Airport. Our kids loved seeing all the planes, and special thanks to Shiloh Air for opening its plane in support of the campaign. Shout out to our volunteers who came out to support the campaign at both events!

Today is a day for remembrance and honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country. We took a break from campaigning to remember those who died but will never be forgotten.

Nick is honored to have Judge Kevin Kormso's (retired) endorsement. Judge Korsmo was a career prosecutor here in Spokane County before joining the Court of Appeals - Division III. Nick learned so much clerking for Judge Korsmo.
