LET'S TALK RENTAL SCAM

Say you are looking for a rental...

You have found a house on a Google search and go by it to find it empty.

Price seems reasonable, if not a good deal.

You respond to the contact information attached to the AD to find the landlord lives out of town... maybe Texas

The landlord requests payment, maybe direct deposit into his bank account and he will FedEX you the keys. You can even track the 'keys'.

Maybe you even look up Tax Assessors and find the landlords name ..same as the person you are corresponding with

Then mysteriously, the keys stop coming to you. You ask the landlord who requests more $$, or maybe the correspondence stops...

Do your research before sending money, this is not a new scam, but this one is popular right now.
