Today I was asked, when did you start My Angel Prints LLC? I realized at that moment it has been 3 years to the day, December 6, 2021, when the State of Utah & Spanish Fork City granted me the business license. Little did I know developing a love for photography would pave the way for a safe way to replicate our precious angel molds. It continues to be an honor to serve you all. I'm beyond grateful for the support over the past few years. In loving memory of my angels on this Children's Day 🤍🤍🤍🌈

Over the weekend, I tested my concept of automating the creation of binary masks, and I'm thrilled with the results! The computer vision software I’m using can now automatically detect the plaster molds in the photos I take and generate black-and-white masks for me. This is a huge time-saver, as manually creating these masks used to take hours for just one set of molds.

For those unfamiliar, I use these binary masks with 3DF Zephyr photogrammetry to create 3D models of plaster molds. The masks help isolate the object (in this case, the plaster mold) from the background, making it easier for the photogrammetry software to process and create accurate 3D models.

The red/blue overlay you see here is a visual check that shows how well the mask aligns with the original image. It’s exciting to see the potential of putting my computer to work for me in this way, and I can’t wait to keep improving the process!
