Juneteenth is a reminder of that not only of freedom delayed, but of the ongoing work required to build communities where equity is lived, not promised.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. That moment, now known as Juneteenth, marks the true arrival of freedom for millions and stands as one of the most powerful chapters in our nation’s story.

At The Unity Collaborative, we honor this history by recommitting to strengthening systems, expanding access, and ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Juneteenth calls us to reflect, to learn, and to take action that moves us closer to a future rooted in justice and shared humanity.

Progress happens when communities come together with intention. Today, we celebrate resilience, amplify Black voices, and continue the work of building pathways that uplift generations.

At The Unity Collaborative, Pride Month is a time to honor the history and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. From the Stonewall Uprising in 1969 to ongoing fights for equality and inclusion, Pride is rooted in equity, progress, and identity.

As a business, we recognize that true support goes beyond rainbow logos. It means uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices, advocating for equal rights, creating inclusive workplaces, and standing against discrimination every day, not just in June.

Kenneth Mathies is widely recognized for his leadership in corporate transformation, supplier diversity, and inclusive workforce development.
