The ‘Foshay Tower’.
Completed months before the 1929 stock market collapse. At 447ft it was the tallest in the Midwest for 48 years. It was modeled off of the Washington monument. Since 2008 it has been operating as the W Hotel. Fun fact - there’s an observation deck on the 30th floor that was converted from the former boardroom.
