Women are entering the trucking industry in record numbers, driven by a change in our culture. The roles of women in the traditional household structure have changed from the 1950s when the majority of housewives stayed at home to take care of their husband and children. Today, women are taking on new careers in trucking.
The industry is taking a unique approach to hiring more women by reaching out to recruiters and creating an environment where women will want to work.
Trucking companies have also relaxed some of the rules around pets and companions to help attract female truck drivers.
