The Ice Box Skating Rink

Thanks to a generous donation, the Ice Box is excited to welcome this refurbished workhorse to our family of ice resurfacers. It arrived yesterday on a flat deck trailer from a rink just outside of Pittsburgh. The addition of this machine provides us with the peace of mind that we have a solid backup to any of our existing Zamboni's. This will also ensure that no rink should ever be down for any mechanically related Zamboni issues and it gives us the opportunity to properly maintain our existing fleet without disrupting the flow of our normal ice schedule/operations. If you see big red out turning a few laps, then give her a wave to say, “Welcome to the Ice Box”!

Today Boy Scout Pack 364 joined us at the Ice Box. The boys and their families learned all about the history of the Zamboni. Then they were off to the Zamboni room to see how it actually works. And if that wasn’t cool enough, they watched the last part of the MHSHL City Tournament and saw the Penn Kingmen bring home the win! A great big thank you to the Kingsmen for letting us grab a photo with you! The group finished off their visit with some ice skating. I would say it was a great day for all! Come back and visit us again soon Troop 364. We loved having you!
