I’ve been asked, “Why don’t you just pay for the backpack giveaway yourself?”

The answer is simple: I could. But that’s not the point.

This giveaway has never been about one person. It’s about bringing our community together.

I believe there are so many businesses, organizations, and individuals who genuinely want to give back. This event gives them the opportunity to pour into our children while also connecting with other businesses, building relationships, and showcasing what they do. It’s amazing to watch people say, “I didn’t know you owned that business!” or “I didn’t know you offered that service!” Those connections matter.

Last year, we gave away 50 backpacks, and I truly thought that would be enough. I was wrong.

Families started lining up hours before the event, and we had to turn children away because we ran out. That was one of the hardest parts of the day for me.

This year, I don’t just want to give away more backpacks—I want to rally the village.

I work with children all year long. I see the need in our schools, at sporting events, and throughout our community. That’s why this event means so much to me.

Every donation goes directly toward this giveaway. Every sponsor, volunteer, vendor, and supporter becomes part of something bigger than a backpack. Together, we’re showing our children that their community sees them, believes in them, and is willing to invest in their future.

It takes a village to raise a child. I’m simply inviting our village to show up. ❤️🎒
