The Relating Gym
Take a deep breath . . . let your lungs fill with air as it pushes out what is not needed.
I don’t remember my first breath. I don’t remember the first time I took a step. I don’t’ even remember my first kiss.
I can imagine my first breath though, my lungs filling with air, pushing out the liquid that no longer served to keep me alive.
I can imagine my first steps, shaky, perhaps falling, crying, getting myself up and trying again.
I don’t remember my first kiss, but I imagine that it was exhilarating, filled with anticipation and nervousness and tingles.
I don’t remember theses things, but I do remember 1 minute ago when I took a deep breath and let my lungs fill with air, pushing out what no longer served me. I can remember walking from the front of this room. Perhaps my steps will be shaky. Perhaps some other steps will cause me to fall and I can remember getting up. I don’t remember my first kiss, but I can go home now and kiss my Love as if it were the first time, with anticipation and tingles.
What will you do today for the first time again?
