A neighbor asked to help with his blocked drain. He is renting.. What I found had to be the worst landlord installation I have seen. Broken pipes, extension use of plumbers putty to control leakage and an accordion drain, all of which will contribute to blockages. We dismantled drain and cleaned it out but the blockage remained. I vacuumed the drain pipe look what was in it. Dead mice!!

These photos are of a building without gutters and soil areas pitched towards the foundation. The hydrostatic pressure has caused large cracks in the masonry and a visible bow in the foundation. This is a serious and expensive structural issue.

People have basements, cold cellars and crawlspaces that they find too icky, dirty or full of spiders and insects.Somethimes they think they should look but put it off and forget. This was this homeowner did and it resulted in an unchecked termite infestation that extended in thte finished basement. Costing thousands to treat and repair.

The owner allowed his gutters to fall away from the house. Water has been draining at the foundation. His attempt to control damage was to lay tarps along the foundation. This resulted in damage to the rear foundation wall, seepage into the basement. Serious damage to the rear sill and masonry ell on the rear of the building has happened.
