I've been gone since Ash Wednesday, lots of strange stuff has been going in nationally. Since I don't control it and can't do anything about it I have to let it go. I hope you do the same. We are starting to get into the season of sun worship. Everyone wants to get out into the sun and they consequently use commercial sunscreens to block the UVB rays. My basic question is, would you dip your finger into your sunscreen and put it into your mouth? Most people would say, 'Of course not!' mostly due to the chemicals used to make the SPF. These chemicals do absorb into your body through your skin. The good news is that EWGs suggestions do not have harmful chemicals and yes, you can put them into your mouth if you choose. Go have fun but if you do get a sunburn there are many things you can do to reduce the pain such as take frequent cool baths, gently rub aloe gel (buy an aloe plant and cut the leafs) over the sunburned area and drink plenty of water.
Use the sunscreens, limit your time in the sun, wear a hat and often people take a long sleeve white shirt with them when at the beach or boating. You can also purchase various SPF clothing.
