Weekly Devotionals

Jesus teaches that strength is not always found in defending ourselves or striking back. When he says, “If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also” (Matthew 5:39), he invites us into a deeper courage — the courage to refuse anger, pride and retaliation. Choosing restraint is not weakness but trust: trust that our worth rests in God and that God’s justice is greater than our need to win. In responding with grace instead of revenge, we quietly reflect Christ himself, showing that love is stronger than hostility and peace stronger than power.
